HAPPY FAT SAM DAY

Some of our lot who seem to want a new manager every week would probably have him back.

I'll never forget his last home in charge v Southampton and the poisonous atmosphere during the second half in what was a terrible performance from us. Endless chanting of 'koff Sam Allardyce', even after we'd scored a very late equalizer.

In all my years going the match I'd never seen an Everton manager so openly abused like that. Even the hapless Mike Walker was never subjected to that kind of treatment.

Certainly a dark period in our history him being here.

All aboard.

Saved us from relegation, got us up as far as 8th by the end of the season in the 6 months he was in charge.

Top gravy!!
I recall the cries of WE'RE GONNA GET RELEGATED and the rending of garments that preceded his arrival and the cries of WE WERE NEVER GONNA GET RELEGATED and the rending of garments that preceded his ouster.

A managerial tenure of uncommon emotional intensity.
