Happy clappers v Sam out

It is strange the way some will only be happy when one section of the fanbase is tearing out the throats of the other? Kenwright haters vs Kenwright apologists; old ‘keep the status quo’ fella’s vs young ‘smash the state’ fella’s. When in fact not one of us know what has been decided, not one! You are all gringding your teeth ready for a ruck on the basis of sod all! By all means get the strop if the club dont go in the direction you want it to go, demonstrate, go on marches etc. But do it when the clubs direction has been declared for God’s sake?

I can just see the hysteria if Fonseca doesn’t come to Everton, the gnashing of teeth and beating of breasts? because a manager some gobbo on social media has decided is the one we should have (despite no hint whatsoever from the man or the club that he is at all interested in us) has the temerity to go elsewhere? Wait and see, we will all know soon enough, if they keep Allardyce, the. By all means riot, i will probably join you! But calling out sections of the fanbase because they arent outraged by a decision tha5 may not yet have been taken, (and if it has none of us plebs would be aware of it yet) is madness!

2 irish guys were giving Big Sam huge stick at the West Brom game near me and this old fat bloke was giving it the support the team nonsense and threatened to fill them in.

That's why very little happens at Goodison. Too many old fellas who've seen Everton win the lot are content to sit back and watch dross content with their lot, while us youngsters suffer year on year of misery.

That's the Everton way these days.

It's not really misery though is it?

Its a funny one, 95% of the footballing fanbase in England are probably looking at us saying "what have they got to moan about?" we are always at the right end of the table (Footballing pyramid in general) have had semi regular European football, trips to Wembley etc and have got to watch some good players down the years. Its quite similar to how most of us view Arsenal I reckon. On the outside we all wonder what they have to moan about but its different when you support them.

I think our biggest problem is boredom. We merely "exist" these days and its quite tedious.

..I don’t think it’s accurate to stereotype people. I’m an old fella who’s seen us win loads but I wouldn’t use the rhetoric you highlight or patronisingly chastise anybody at a football match. People are just different. I suspect i’m talking for many of the older generation when I say nothing would please me more than seeing our younger fans enjoy success, they deserve it so much.

I don't give a flying one what other fans think. These same fans who keep patting our head telling us Allardyce is doing a fantastic job for us, despite the fact they would be utterly mortified if he was their club's manager. They can all do one.

Well this is kind of the point I am making...

Maybe it is. And I say it partly tongue in cheek but it's how I see it to an extent.

There's no demands from fans to see better football. There's a timid acceptance to our plight. There's a constant worry about perception with other teams' fans. There's complete and utter resignation.

The root cause is of course those who are, and have been the custodians of the club. But the supporters are the only people who can have any influence on an unambitious and out of touch board. Mindless clapping of mediocrity is not support. It's delusion.

Now that Sam is staying I wonder if Klassen will think of doing a Rodwell and disappear, keeping his huge salary of course.

I partly agree with you. But Arsenal's 'misery' is not exactly comparable to ours is it. They have a spoilt fanbase who have even shown this season that when up against it (in relative terms), a lot of them just give up.

They had 20 years of top 4 finishes, 3 League Titles, loads of Cup wins, European Trips, dominated the North London Derby and Spurs won barely anything in that time (2 League Cups I think). They had 1 Title and 1 FA Cup more than us before that so it's not like they were miles ahead of us as a club before Wenger came in.

Compare our 'misery' and since Moyes left, except for the 13-14 season have gone through 3 seasons of actual mediocrity. Seasons where we have gone almost a year without a league away win, stretches of 1 win in 10+ games, haven't beaten the RS since 2010, and now have to endure them getting to another major European Final.

We have it better than most fans in England in terms of our Premier League status, but none of those that have it worse have achieved what this club has over its history. So I think we're entitled to demand more than a West Ham or Newcastle, especially now we have Moshiri.

It was miserable when Moyes was here. No matter what the results are the same. Half decent league positions if not the performances to go with it, dipping out of the cups early or a "brave" defeat in the later rounds and a European embarrassment once every so often.

I agree Arsenal fans are spoiled but other clubs fans would want to be in our position too, not sure why like, but they would.
