Zatara

Player Valuation: £100m
1st to 8th separated by 9pts

Arsenal 42
City 41
Chelsea 40
Everton 37
RS 36
UTD 34
Spurs 34
Newcastle 33

Head-to Head with a fully fit team (albeit without Barry/Lukaku against City/Chelsea) I think we can compete and we have shown we can compete and beat all of these sides. The key is beating all of the other teams further down the table -- noting we have dropped 5pts against Palace and Sunderland which would actually put us joint top!!!

Other than the lack of strength in depth up front and in central midfield, I don't think we have anything to fear this season. Just need a couple of players in January to fill these slots and I think we can actually IMPROVE now Martinez has bedded in and the players understand the system.

It's ridiculously close this year, and I'd say any of the top 4 could well go on to win it! ;-)

Think January will be a huge month for ALL.....if we can win the next 3 games till Jan 20th I believe (Stoke/Norwich/WBA I think) then it sets us up for the Derby...

On top of this players we approach will see our position and be keen to join.

until jan, weel spend nothing, all other teams will improve
lukaku will get injured sent back too chelsea, jelly will be upfront with a 1 in 10 ratio
coleman to arse , baines to manu . howard will keep getting red cards
weel get no pens either, the witch hunt will begin again
bobby will be of to barca weel end up back with moylez

belive me lids

get shut of Jelavic and Heitinga and bring 4/5 in - then we can talk about doing what we've done so far this season.

We saw today how a mini-crisis has us playing a game that's alien to our new approach.

Time for Billy Liar to tip up the money that goes into that club and not squirrel it away as per usual on the myriad of "costs" him and his CEO dream up new names for every year to deny managers cash.

Big factors for the clubs at the top will be:

- who comes and goes in January, can't see any significant players leaving so will be more on who comes in
- injuries, moyes seems to have made Rvp a permacrock again, sturridge and Gerrard (and possibly sakho) are out for liverpool, we are missing jags for a month as well as gerry, Ramsey and ozil are out for arsenal

Whoever gets a good player or two in January and stays relatively free of injuries for the rest of the season will be in a good place for top 4

Tony Scott on Twitter posted the stat earlier:

Liverpool have picked up 8 points out of a possible 27 from teams in the top half.
Everton have picked up 18 out of 27 vs teams in top half.

We're generally okay vs teams in the top half, it's teams vs the bottom half we need to improve upon.

Its got to be easier to improve to win against lesser teams, than it is to improve enough to beat the bigger ones so that has to be positive. That we are good enough cannot be argued, we just need to be a bit more intelligent at times.
Still think that we should be able to replace one of the two DM's with an AM or 2nd striker against the lower quality teams just to help break down the defensive walls.
