If, like me, you often struggle with acid reflux/dull or burning ache in your upper stomach and often reach for rennie, blaming Everton, stress, or whatever...
It could worth looking up/considering testing for H. pylori.
Ive struggled with it for years, after struggling with swallowing due to acid/had to admit defeat and went the docs - turns out I had H pylori. Half the population does apparently but it only causes a problem for a few. If you leave it, it can cause some bigger problems like stomach cancer, and theres been a fair few links to alzheimer's etc.
Id assumed I'd been ignorant and assumed most would know of it but it seems a lot in the same boat of never hearing of it. Loads struggle on, as i understand it taking lansoprazole etc but dont treat the cause - the doctor told me they never used to proactively test for h pylori (i went 10+ years back with same issue) but they now do.

Hope this proves useful to someone.
