The first video I posted was from a feminist professor who uses facts. How that has no basis is beyond me. This one I posted to show that men and women are different and both have advantages and disadvantages. Our western society is not sexist.

If we lived in this utterly misogynistic country that you seem to think we live in why would 80% of suicides be male? If it was so bad and women were so oppressed surely they'd be committing most of the suicides?

This goes to @SerenityNigh's point about considering the context of statistics. More women attempt suicide, but tend to use less lethal/violent methods than men. Men are more likely to use guns and women pills for example.

I've not been paying attention to your side argument as I've been engrossed by my conversation with Tubey. I find this interesting; can you summarize the pros and cons of being male or female in a pie chart for me?

But they reenter the workforce later, with less experience and often less education with less earnings as a result. That's as large an effect on average earnings as any other.

While I agree that there is some discrimination within the system, so to speak, not all of it is bad. Choice is good, as are preferences. Being able to exert choice or preference is a good thing. That said, we (speaking generally of two similar but different governments and cultures) need to do a better job matching qualified people with responsible jobs.

As for Mrs Nigh's career? She misses it, but I don't think she regrets her decision (although, aptly prompted, I'll ask her again.)

Not asking whether she regrets her decision mate - what I'm saying is does she wish that instead of having a black and white choice between having children OR a career, whether she would have at least appreciated the option of a career with provisions made for easy and affordable access to childcare. Let's face it, if that provision existed and your wife would have took it on, one more talented person would be in the workforce right now.

The provision almost certainly didn't exist - and it pretty much doesn't anywhere, as it hasn't been a priority for donkeys years. Ask yourself why that is.

I've just spent the best part of two hours doing so. With stats. If you're not going to read, that's not my problem.

To me, it's not sexism it's gender differences. For example the pay gap can be explained by these gender differences. The only way to not have this gender gap is to pay everybody the same regardless of hours worked and regardless of the job. As for the women losing their job there is no evidence to suggest they lost it because they were women.
