Not at all - they have to be accommodated to not leave the workforce, which makes economic, practical sense.

Properly accommodating maternity leave and properly accommodating educational choices are quite different. For the physician that chooses family practice or emergency medicine, which have a better schedules and require less specialized training than orthopedics or cardiology, how do you compensate for loss of earnings? Obviously, no compensation is required; choice matters.

If they leave the workforce, they leave the stats, so if gender disparity wasn't an issue, the stats would barely alter.

Yet because so many leave the workforce for gender related reasons, the stats shift harder.

We basically agree, but where you see women effectively forced out of certain roles as reasonable and part of the natural order, I see it as lazy prejudice.

Wouldn't your other at least have liked the choice of having a child AND a career?

0.32% in men.

Really? Blimey if true.

What I am saying is that woman do not have disadvantages in the workplace, but so do men. It isnt discrimination in the way that perhaps I understand it, more a reflection on the social makeup of the world.

Like, for example, two large companies I know well. One a charity, one an engineering firm.

Guess which one has more males, and which one employs more females?

One, the engineering firm, is booming. The other has had to make 100's redundant.

Is that discriminating against one or the other?

And the last CEO of the charity was a female.

Nonsense. That entire post is ridiculous.

US stats:

  • Females were most likely to be victims of domestic homicides (63.7%) and sex-related homicides (81.7%).
  • Males were most likely to be victims of drug- (90.5%) and gang-related homicides (94.6%).
One stat is because of their gender, the other is because they put themselves in a dangerous situation. Which do you think is which?

"Men aged between 18 and 25 are more likely to be attacked than anyone else in society. In fact, men are almost twice as likely to face violent attack than women."

If we lived in this utterly misogynistic country that you seem to think we live in why would 80% of suicides be male? If it was so bad and women were so oppressed surely they'd be committing most of the suicides?

But they reenter the workforce later, with less experience and often less education with less earnings as a result. That's as large an effect on average earnings as any other.

While I agree that there is some discrimination within the system, so to speak, not all of it is bad. Choice is good, as are preferences. Being able to exert choice or preference is a good thing. That said, we (speaking generally of two similar but different governments and cultures) need to do a better job matching qualified people with responsible jobs.

As for Mrs Nigh's career? She misses it, but I don't think she regrets her decision (although, aptly prompted, I'll ask her again.)

Negged for quoting Tucker Carlson

Once again. Stop posting videos that have no basis. It doesn't help your argument if you think 'women get free stuff' is evidence

Did you actually hear number 11 and think that was anything but hideous?
