I honestly think the thing with him and Walcott is the age they started as full time professionals. Walcott 16-17 and Sigurdsson 17-18. They both look mentally burnt out and have lost any passion for the game. We talk about late twenties early thirties being a player's peak but the younger they start, the mental peak gets earlier. Unless you are a monster like Zlatan,Ronaldo, messi, etc

The thing about him is not his lack of pace , it's that he cannot even do the simple things right anymore , Carlo always had that player that had no pace yet could dictate play to suit the situation , Pirlo and Kroos had/have no pace but could dominate play by picking out precision passes , quick one two , and slow or accelerated the game to their liking , one wonders if he thinks Gomes could do that job or whether he will sign someone new .
