He's still got plenty of good years left in him if he finds his way to a slower league, but it's going to be tough to convince a foreign club to match his existing contract. Could be a case of having to continue paying a portion of his salary in order to get rid, a la Rooney.

I said the other day that I think Niasse would tear it up in Scotland. He is big and physical, and most importantly, unpredictable. I think he would be a handful, and while he may not be the most elegant of players, he can be effective and seems to score goals when given a decent run of games.

I genuinely can't say the same for the ghost. I think he would struggle anywhere that he actually has to show up and be counted. He chases shadows, and his set pieces are pretty poor as well. It has nothing to do with pace, because he's never had any. It's about bottle and enthusiasm, and I'm not sure he's ever had any of those either.

If his motivation is gone, I agree, but if he still wants to play, I don't think that his lack of dynamism would be an issue somewhere like Italy.
