I think he’s shown enough in parts throughout his time here to warrant some time in the team under Ancelotti. He has been awful this season though and I like him so it’s hard to watch. I’m hoping with new players coming in it’ll maybe give him a kick up the arse and see him improve but it could be too late.
If he’s not offering anything from an attacking playmaking point of view what’s the point. Playing with 10men.

Koeman played him as he was his man. Silva being a young manger and obviously didn’t want to upset our most expensive signing.

But Ancelotti won’t give 2 Fcuk’s and will be out the door if he doesn’t think he’s the answer moving forward, which most of us know he isn’t.
I’d sell him this month if we got a decent offer.

If they go back down he will 100% leave them and for big money too.

It would very interesting to see how he`d cope away from his comfort blanket of Villa.

There`s deffo a player there, but there`s also still a massive bellend too.
His price would be cheaper if they went down. Would still cost plenty though

I wouldn’t be so certain, he’s featured a lot for Carlo so far albeit cos of injuries but he might see something in him. I don’t think he’ll sell him just yet as we are so short in the middle of the park and January isn’t the best time to bring in players.

No other players available, but yesterday hauled him off middle of the second half. He knows he's useless and that was the signal.

No matter how poor he was under Silva, still played the full 90 minutes. Carlo has seen how poor he is and he's done.

Gbamin/Delph/Holgate/Davies/Gomes/Schneiderlin all ahead of him and won't start again.

You answered your own question. Injuries is the reason he’s played every game. Had no issue taking him off last night though.

And it’s a myth, you can’t get players in January. A number of world class players have been bought in January. Me saying we should sell in January was a bit tongue in cheek. Obviously that’s not going to happen. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s gone in the summer.

Yeah I get the injuries thing but looking at our current CM options I still think he’s the best of a bad bunch. Not many good players move in January, the last 2 we spent big on were Tosun and Walcott and they were both signed for big fees and can’t get a game for us now. It’s a risky time to buy, but with a Euros coming up we could get a player force a move to ensure he’s at them.

Sigurddsson is going nowhere, we way overpaid for him. We aren't going to get anywhere close to what we paid for him. If we got him for 10m, I think people would give him way less stick. I can see him becoming a squad player and a good one too, unless he regains the type of form he displayed last season.

He started 12 games under Silva this season and was subbed off in 5 of them. Don't let the truth get in the way of your story though.

I know he 'works hard ' but he is always behind the play and second to every ball. That pass he did to Coleman is rarity and without that pass he is quite useless.
This 'he works hard' thing is a fallacy. Yes he moves around but it's generally to no purpose other than to get his stats up. What he's best at doing is hiding himself among the bodies congesting the middle of the park, something he does purposely, presumably because he lacks the confidence to find the space to receive the ball and then make something happen.

He doesn't really fit a 4-4-2. I think he's only playing due to the injuries. He's not disciplined enough for the '6' role and not dynamic enough for the '8' role. With Schneiderlin back we will then have 3 proper midfielders to rotate so fingers crossed he'll be on the bench. He can't play on the wing in a 4 so the only other option is as the 2nd striker but DCL, Richarlison first choice Kean is a better option and bad as they are I would rather player Tosun and Niasse before him.
