To get any sort of use out of him you have to set up a team around him and to be blunt, he isn't good enough to justify it.
Certainly not for us and any manager in the lower reaches of the league will know tney will have to take a major chance involving tactics and formation.
The one thing i thought we would get, if we forget about his display in play performances, was a true set piece specialist but by and large they have been woeful too.
At any normal club we would be talking about him being our worst value for money signing ever but we made it rain big for so many barely functioning footballers it's too depressing to contemplate.
It's hard watching this players who quite obviously good enough but Carlo knows that too. Hes already been mentally disposed of, we're just waiting for someone to pick up the trash.

I've no real dislike of him. He's not a bad player but he's not what we need at all. He's just one of several players who makes the first thing that go through my mind, "when does his contract end?"

Exactly.
As painful as it is to have to go through the motions with these players until they can be replacd, Carlo and Brands don't want them their either and are probably internally just as inpatient to be able to build the squad they want.
Some of the wages and length of contact were bizarre and needs to be managed better going forward.

sadly I’m aligned... I defended him tooth and nail over the summer .. and deservedly so...he was exceptional last year... but he’s fallen for a cliff and I don’t know why... I would keep him for the squad as I would keep Sneids.. we just need to replace with improved versions that go into the first team and he drops down to bench and when injuries strike..

If he is under consideration for a squad place next year they will have to look at what makes the most financial sense.
His contribution to the squad by appearances would be minimal and his contribution during those appearances no doubt even less.
He's on big wages whicj could likely be better spent elsewhere and im not sure how many loan clubs would want to pay them either.
He doesn't fit anywhere in this team in any position. Move him on as soon as possible.
