Playing in his best position and has been rewarded with his highest number of premier league goals. Does help that we have seen proper footballers in Bernard and Richarlison alongside him. With all respect to DCL, just imagine what he and the side could produce with a top class forward in the team.

Yeah, that's just silly. He ALWAYS did for Swans. He ALWAYS did for Iceland. He may not be the best player in the PL, but he works his tail off and is technical gifted as well as creative.

No better illustration when he dropped his shoulder and feinted to go one way and then the other and then drew a foul from Fred, who was like chasing shadows trying to contain him.

I get that but I think DCL really helps Gylfi in the way he runs channels and is committed to the pressing, obviously it'd be great if we could sign someone who does all that and score goals but this system needs an unselfish workhorse striker and Gylfi needs runners and people to match his work-ethic.

There is no doubt that he's a very good player, but he just doesn't do it on a regular basis. He's been good 1st half today but surely he's good enough to take games against the Fulhams of this world by the scruff of the neck.

Because he's playing so high, against those teams he is therefore right in the middle of the congestion. When Gomes has dropped deep, to find Sigurd' he's got to play one hell of a pass and Sig has to hold it, back to goal typically, and create from the smallest of pockets.

What we need is a CM who can break the lines by running through them. We saw it being effective last week when Zouma did it a few times.

Daucoure is the obvious answer to this problem.

Because teams which have a go at us are never going to be a problem for Sig. Give him space and he'll do what he did today, ran a midfield that cost 170m absolutely ragged.

Doesn't lay all the blame off Gylfi like, either. Because he can still be better in those situations, obviously.

I've got to disagree with that mate. He's got the ability to regularly be our best player, yes. But too often the game passes him by, Gana on the other hand is regularly our best player.
