Transfer Rumour Gustavo Gómez

I 100% want us to sign him simply because there's nothing better than turning up at Goodison first game of the season and there being someone in the team that you know absolutely nothing about. That little glimmer of hope that they might - just might - be absolutely boss.

Obviously 99% of them turn out to be crushingly average or permanently crocked, but hey, I'm a romantic.

Walsh to Milan...'Now get this,I've not come all this way to look at tat....show me the good stuff'..........

..it's odd, Steve. According to the press, Milan have offered players up they don't want. I presume Walsh won't have gone out there for a face to face without having a number of calls with them first. Both clubs must know the agenda in advance of the meeting and surely something must've been worth negotiating for Walsh to go over there.

I'm hoping the rumour reports are total speculation. As you say, we don't want cast offs. It's a bit like Sunderland coming to us for Gibson, Pienaar and Oviedo.

Indeed, I watched the highlights from the France Paraguay game, and he looks like he both looked a bit awkward, and bad. Granted it was one game, but my experience with youtube highlight videos is that they are always boss.

..I agree, YouTube can be flattering but this fella even looks slow in those. The Italians know their defenders and Gomez has struggled for game time.

Yes. Or...Koeman is already peed off with the way our window is going and has told Walsh to get players, almost any players, in and sharpish. That's not as crazy as it sounds, really. Koeman is all about having a team that will play within his system. A player could be useless at Milan, but brilliant for Everton. Remember how important Carsley was to Everton? And the difficulty replacing him like for like? The position even became known as 'The Carsley position' Before last season, think how important Barry was to Everton. Style and adaptability is more important to Koeman than superstar skills...they don't always fit(example Geri).

This delegation visiting should happen more often....kinda like a car boot sale - each time they visit we drag out our dross and offer them at 'cheaper than chips price especially for you'
'Sorry sir, you have to get here nice and early for an Aroune...but I can do two for one with Oumar and Stek..may even have an old Chang Osman I can throw in....'
