Where is our scouting system - other teams seem to find 5-6 million low paid players with a sell on value 12 months later - Burnley did & they went down .... now we are struggling to sign anyone off them FGS ....

To be fair, when you want 40 million for a 28 year old footballer you usually are “waiting for Everton”.

I don't like investing in a 28 year old, but traditionally, most number 6s play until they're a bit older.

The lack of re-sale is a concern, but if you could get 3-4 quality years out of a player like this, who would provide the anchor during a rebuild, then I think that is a quality investment.
