Guardiola to be found out in the premier league

if a player or his agent has plenty of past form for putting himself on a pedestal, acting entirely in a selfish, unreasonable and self centred manner, talking self promoting nonsense and attacking any perceived obstacle whether manager or club, then its can't be that surprising that when he speaks, people raise eyebrows.

I'm not dismissing racism or any other serious issue by not taking what such a player says that seriously, the player has form and perhaps should look at himself, his agent and their past behaviour to see the reasons why.

Racism should be investigated but it is unfortunately a powerful weapon that can be badly misused all too easily, and in the wrong hands can be liberally bandied around and used to wrongly stigmatize and hurt almost any person that's in the way, or that you perceive as your enemy and want to punish.

Should we investigate every single case no matter who says it and what their likely motives are, or at least take some account of their past behaviour and not put a manager through the mill just on the whim of a disgruntled ex-employee with an axe to grind?

If someone has a record of previous ludicrous statements or behaviour then of course it affects people's perception of him and his credibility, testimony in a law court is often given less weight if the witness has a track record of poor reliability or has proven untrustworthy in the past. You can't just ignore this it would be completely wrong and unjustified, a persons past behaviour is almost always a guide to how likely he's speaking the truth.

if he has any evidence or other players supporting this, then his accusations would carry more credibility and that would be a different matter. Where there is evidence then it should be investigated.

it's not and shouldn't be the case that someone who has a well publicised grudge can throw in racism and see his 'enemy' seriously wounded without good grounds, if he has them investigate but not before.

Frivolous and gratuitous allegations like this from Yaya only serve to dilute complaints about genuine cases of racism.

So people rate Guardiola as this great manager perhaps the best in the world but what defines a great manager.
Should a manager who is managing Barcelona with the best team in the world win the league and champions league... yes. he won the champions league twice with barcelona out of four attempts, he won the league 3 times out of 4. Is Luis Enrique a great manager too? or does he just managing a great team?
Should a manager with Bayern Munich win the champions league, a team who in his era there perhaps the best in the world.... yes, he didnt win it. He won the bundesliga 3 times but hardly surprising when he signed all their rivals best players from them, eg Lewandowski and Gotze.
My main point being, he failed at Bayern Munich, the league was a gimme for the them but ultimately the champions league he didnt even reach a final.
As for the premier league when did a team last win the league playing Barca esque style football? I dont think its been done. Look what that style did to Everton last season. Then compare Leicester's effective counter attack style.
For me Guardiola has done what has been expected of him as a whole on his career and certainly is no elite manager. His style will be found out and I expect him be struggling next season. I cant understand the hype and odds suggest Man City are huge favourites to win the league... not for me.

John?

Ya Ya was the fella who refused Champagne as a man of the match award on religious grounds citing he is a Muslim and doesn't drink alcohol kicking up a fuss in 2012 fast forward a few years to 2016 and he's being done for drink driving. It's not unusual for him to act like a bell either, I guess him and pep don't see eye to eye for some reason but I suspect racism is not or ever has been the catalyst for it and it looks like another cheaply thrown racism accusation which doesn't help the real cause at all.

Pep Guardiola rubbishes Yaya Toure claims over African players: 'It's a lie and he knows it'

Pep Guardiola has dismissed Yaya Toure’s claim he has a problem with African players as a lie and questioned why the midfielder decided to try and tarnish his reputation so soon after leaving Manchester City.

Guardiola initially remained silent last week in the aftermath of a series of damning accusations made by Toure and his agent, who insisted he wanted to “break the Guardiola myth” after moaning that his former boss had deliberately ruined his final season at the Etihad Stadium.

Toure has since made it known that he wants to sign for another Premier League club so that he can compete against City and Guardiola next season, with his agent, Dimitry Seluk, even suggesting his client would sign for a rival team on wages of just £1-a-week, plus bonuses.

The storm was unlikely to clear without a response from the City manager and, speaking in Spain, he has denied there is any truth in the suggestion he is racist or treated Toure badly.

“It's a lie and he knows it," Guardiola told TV3 in Spain. "We were together for two years and now this is when he says it. He never told me face-to-face."

I'd forgotten what an immature dildo Yaya 'où est mon gâteau' Touré is. RedCafe's thread on him is entitled 'Yaya Cries Again', which says it all really.
