Either way even if they get through we'll have Bale, Ronaldo and Modric against that VVD, Lovren and Robertson; which is a mouth watering prospect.

i've stayed well away from the Citeh hype machine this season. Fair enough they have taken care of a piss poor league but they really ARE NOT that good. Still got far too many ok players but not great.
If Wenger had set his team up like that tonight the press would have a field day with the "he has no plan B etc" Guardiola got away with it at Barca as he had just the most amazing midfield and attack.. same to a lesser extent at Bayern.
But Fernandinho, Gundogan, Silva, De Bruyne, Sane? not even close. Not one of those players would have got in his Barca or Bayern teams.

That Milan side were better than this Liverpool side, and City are better than depot where so there's always hope

Guardiola has been found out in Europe if nothing else. Apart from a period when he had 3 of the greatest players in history in their prime at Barcelona his philosophy has fallen short several times. He couldn’t get past the semis with a star studded Bayern side and he’ll now have Monaco and Liverpool as the sides that put out the richest club in the world under his charge.
