Hansi Flick deserves sacking just for insisting on playing Muller as striker. Didn't he learned the lesson with Fullkrug last game?

Ffs, Muller best position throught career was always playing support role, to Lewa, Klose (in national team) or now in Bayern and not leading the line

No lesson learned at all. Hansi is just another ideologue, it seems. You must play for Bayern or you won't play at all appears to be his line. Good luck to him. He might get away with it tonight, but he has been as disappointing as his squad this tournament.

I've been watching Japan v Spain and wondering if there could be anything less boring than the commentary, and it came to me! The football being played is so boring and terrible as a spectacle for the neutral, and probably just as bad for the supporters. So I'm off to watch some paint dry, or count my tea-towels - something stimulating.

The female referee has been excellent - she's let the game flow all night - but her lineswoman on the far side has had a shocker, missing a clear German corner and wrongly flagging Musiala offside. She's arming the misogynists.
