Its effect is overblown in the media but I believe that sports for the most part bring people together.

Krstajic was less magnanimous when asked about the decision not to award a penalty to Aleksandar Mitrovic in the second half.
“We were robbed,” he said. “I wouldn’t give him either a yellow or red card, I would send him to the Hague. Then they could put him on trial, like they did to us.”
Krstajic also posted photographs from the match on his Instagram account, accompanied by the comment: “Unfortunately, it seems that only the Serbs are condemned to a selective justice, once (it was) the damned Hague and today in football the VAR...”
 
FIFA are investigating both Xhaka & Shaqiri and yesterday included Lichtsteiner for immediate 2 match bans & fines. Swiss radio are saying the SFA and a Swiss delegate who used to be chairman of the FIFA disciplinary committe are confident of a positive outcome with nothing more than a fine

Interestingly, the internal debate within Suisse is divided on how to view what happened but many feel that after the incidents between Switzerland & Albania for Euro 2016, FIFA should've anticipated better ahead of the encounter with Serbia ensuring a sporting environment which elicited the reaction from the players
