England are playing exactly like the 2 friendlies they had just before the tournament. Something needs to click soon

If that is what he has literally been watching for the last 7 days he needs to get out more.
Or at least switch over to p#@n hub for a change.
I actually think it's a fair point. The media won't stop banging on about Euro 96 and it was particularly bad in the build up to the Scotland game. I wonder if it had an effect on the players and contributed to their poor performance on Friday.

'Bizarre' to suggest players should be playing based on form and fitness. One of the big problems with England for years has been playing favourites based on their reputation. Kane has stunk the gaffe out for both games and Southgate saying stuff like this just allows for subpar performances.

Tbf though, Kane should be playing. It is about getting service into him. The players are there. The service isn't.

I mean, I don't think any country is going to drop its captain after a couple of bad games. Even at club level this wouldn't happen.

He's also a world class finisher and creator too.

It's on Southgate to stop being boring and safe and find a way to get the best out of the talent at his disposal.

That doesn't mean all out attack, it means playing in a way that gets the best out of those players and has balance and, if plan a doesn't work, have the bravery to go and switch it.

DCL should 100% have been on the other day if Kane was going off, mind. Absolutely mental to bring Rashford on up top against a defence sat on their own box.

So he plays, gets COVID, no one else has to self-isolate?

Quite remarkable that he wasn't in close enough contact with anyone in the game, after the match (despite hugging England players), in the tunnel, the changing room, the coach, further training sessions, team mates he's with in his Instagram stories.

I understand they take regular tests but still... kinda goes against the rules the rest of us have to do in this instance.

Be amazed if a good few teams aren't severely affected by covid withdrawals by the end of the tournament. Can see it spreading quickly through several camps passing it to each other - quite amazed it's taken 10 days of the tournmanet to get the first

Isn't it a bit of both?

Like for example, my mate who has had to isolate recently was classed as a 'close contact' of his hockey mate (so yeah, in that sense, surely Gilmour and the others he's been with would count as that?).

But then on the other hand, my mate lives with his mum and girlfriend and neither of them had to isolate or even have to get a test (they just chose to get tested to be on the safe side).

Basically, the rules don't make sense for anybody.

As far as I was aware in the case of your mate (and like my mum in her primary school bubble last year). They have to isolate but not who they live with unless they get symptoms, then they all have to isolate.
