The Serbs tend to think they were Yugoslavia - but in football terms the other federal states were hugely significant constituent parts. The Slovenes should have beaten the rump Yugoslavia in 2000, and the Croats have outperformed them since independence. The Serb fans are struggling with loss of empire, so to speak.

As much as I like to laugh at Ingurlanders, doubt all the other countries leave it any differently, sadly. It's also why at World Cups and stuff the media is so in awe with Asian countries' fans picking up their garbage, as if it's something no one's ever though of.
