You might want to check the graph above. Scoring loads against the Andorra’s of this world doesn’t mean as much.

The graph above is bias though because Messi can make a pass to Aguero or Tevez to slot.

Ronaldo has had to play alongside bums like Eder who couldn't slot for Swansea over the years.

Portugal have a wee bit more talent these days in an attacking sense but over the years Ronaldo has had to spearhead them whereas Messi whilst still the main man has had top players playing around him.

Easier to contribute goals when you have world class team mates.

Are you suggesting Portugal have/have had no good attacking players outside Ronaldo?

That would be the Eder who scored the goal that won them their first international trophy yes?

He's not achieved more unless you just ignore Copa America
Aye...and was player of the tournament, most goals, most assists. When Portugal won the Euros in 2016, Ronaldo only goals came gainst Hungary and Wales, and that's it for the whole tournament. His main contribution to the final was missing most of the game after being attacked by killer moths.

Argentina has had a plethora of top players Messi has played alongside though - easy to find space when you have the likes of Aguero, Tevez and Di Maria alongside you.

Ronaldo has carried a bang average Portugal side on his back on many occasions.

118 goals to Messi's 90 odd.

Similiar quality but only a fut hipster chooses Messi over Ronaldo imo.

Ronaldo all round player - left foot, right foot, can score with his heed, jumps like a salmon - whatever you need.
Scores with his head and is better at penalties yet Messi has an overall better goals to games ratio. That's before you consider other footballing attributes where Messi is streets ahead.
Ronaldo is undoubtedly a great player and an unearthly goal scorer. Messi is as good a goal scorer and a far better player.

TBH Messi was incredibly average last night, apart from his goal - but I guess that's why he's in the team, because he can deliver a moment like that.

That said, Argentina do look like a good team that isn't really centered around him, and have what it takes to go deep in this tournament. The way the English press writes you would think they are a 1 man outfilt.

Career wise Ronaldo has also played nearly 100 games more than Messi.

Messi missed his chance to prove he's the better out the 2 by staying most of his career at a club that was arguably one of the greatest sides of all time over a good bulk of that period.

You cant be classed as the best in the world until you prove it in England and the PL.

Messi likely would have done great in England but we'll never know whereas Ronaldo has dominated multiple top leagues across europe.

Utter nonsense and everything you wrote is laughable.
