I feel like Iran sacking the manager who cruised through qualifying was an under appreciated storyline. They look awful.

It is a bit worrying that the two sides who have been shellacked have been Asian Federation sides

Hopefully Japan and Korea can restore some credibility to the region in their upcoming games

I can't get my head around supporting a team purely because of the lottery of where they happen to be born.

They should make the World Cup a 16 team event. Cut out all the minnows clogging the competition up. Four groups of 4 teams - top two go through to a KO phase starting at the QF stage. Held over two weeks.

Qatar are a nothing team who would not have qualified on their own merit. Tiny place of course.
