Groucho's Fact Hunt

In general, crocodiles inhabit more brackish (mixed salt and fresh) water. Basically, where the Everglades meet the ocean. Alligators, on the other hand, live in more fresh water environments. So, a little more inland. However, there are places where alligators and crocodiles fight for the same living space. Crocodiles usually win those fights. But both live in the Everglades. The Everglades are pretty awesome actually. Not sure if anyone here has heard of them. It's home to some the craziest animals in the world.. including panthers.
Do you still have a growing population of Pythons?

( Assuming you could) drill a hole right through the (centre of) the Earth and jumped in it, you would not fall out the other side
According to QI you would. You would pop out of the hole, pause for the briefest second, and fall back down. And same again the other side until someone grabbed you before you went again.

I read that your fall would be arrested by gravity before you emerged out the other side...so you do a 'yo-yo' inside the hole (ie inside earth) before you eventually stopped at the middle. I will research this further and revert

QI is right

Are Bull Sharks in the mix, as they can live very happily in brackish water too ?.

If they are only a mad man would venture out onto those waters !
You're absolutely correct! Bull sharks have been found in rivers and canals here too! They're a nasty bunch. Just the other day, my friend and I went out fishing off the coast of the Florida Keys and he had what looked like a big albacore on the line. I couldn't tell because half of it was gnawed off by a bull shark that came out of nowhere! I inserted the picture..

I'm not sure how in control the population is, tbh. I do know that wildlife authorities have basically given up on trying to eradicate Burmese pythons in the Everglades entirely, as they have become entrenched in the ecosystem. It's proven too difficult to get rid of all of them. And they do pose a huge problem, because they actually try to eat alligators... and succeed. There was even a case that an enormous python ate a pretty big alligator. The alligator was way too big and the python basically burst open. Here's a picture from the BBC, ironically enough hehe

Wow what a top pic.

What an incredible place, full of apex predators.

I'd be having a go for Bull Sharks if I was you !
