Greek Financial Crisis

They need to face up to their situation then like we did and tackle it head on. It's not like they are a 3rd world country.
They still need some money to keep hospitals/police/fire service functional. You seem to be underestimating how little money the country currently has to start off with.
The infrastructure is on the verge of collapse and the Eu are demanding that more money gets taken out of what's left if their economy.
The banks have been closed since last week to stop everyone withdrawing what little money they have left and the Banks going under.

Really ? Where are you getting this info from ?

The banks have not been closed since last week. They closed today and there will be restrictions on cash withdrawals for a week until the referendum.

Please vote to bring down the crazy made up currency my Greek friends. Don't be stupid like them Paddy's oh wait..
To hell with the ECB,IMF and the Irish..

One Euro will get you 71.23 Queens Pence..thought it would be worse tbh

That's bollox mate. They are a great bunch of lads. Your just sounding like a FG man there. We got screwed over unsecured bondholders and have nothing to be proud about tbf

You are embarrassing our nation. Please stop.

Hopefully this sham currency is on its way out. Ya cant have a solid currency without a functioning treasury which the brains in the ECB forgot about also. If the Greeks bring it down the short term pain will be worth it.

Don't know the in's and out's of their predicament cos' I've just turned 20 (thus not too assed). But from where I am it looks like major tax evasion plus moving to the euro from the cheapo dracma which brought loads of tourism. Correct me if I'm wrong lids.

Retirement age at 55 also lid but mainly the here and the now is that the previous Greek Government agreed to pay back borrowed money at ridiculous interest rates despite reforms of tax, retirement age etc makes no difference. The damage is done and the people ain't happy.

60 quid a day or something I heard haha they are in a mess aren't they. Shame on the people/country that lent them it in the first place though basically ruined a nation.

No...erm,..'lad'...it's not a failed experiment as far as Ireland and 18 other countries are concerned.

You British may see it differently and that is understandable. Carry on sleeping.

I agree completely.

Greece entered the Euro on a political fudge and now it will likely fall out due to political incompetence.

That doesn't make it a mistake for the other nations. If anything this will strengthen the Euro.

The only potential country now at risk is Portugal but I think a lesson will be learned on Greece.
