Monitored this for the last 18 months or so ( I live in Rhodes) I have withdrawn the little money I have and moved it.From tomorrow..... those with Greek Bank cards ....... will only be allowed to take out 60 euros a day.Tourists will be able to take out whatever they like.

Is that the official FX rate, or a travel rate you've actually seen available?

Best I've seen is at the Thomas Exchange in London, at 1.3960. Waiting for it to hit 1.40 and I'll go get my summer hols cash.

The official fx rate. Best rate I had was last week, 1.38 from fairfx. Wishing I had held out a little longer now though.

Banks are shut but you can still draw €60 a day per account from cash machines. Not going to do the overal economy much good if people are limited to spending cash. Then again, maybe this is a sly way to make people stop paying cash-in-hand and get the tax paying rate to go up...
