Alex Ferguson surely - but only because circumstances stood in the way of Kendall's longevity in the dynasty he was denied.

Regardless of who you like or don't like, the top three must be: Matt Busby, Bill Shankley, Alex Ferguson. (With a shout for Bill Nicholson)
Harry gained more 1st Div points in the 60s than anybody. (Not SAF obviously, different times) But won't gain many votes
But all the usual suspects who trail in his wake will
Its all about perception = The Media

Edit; tbh, I'm amazed Catterick even got a mention, what with football only being invented in 1992.
But they had to get Shankly and Paisley in.

....yep, I suppose he built a couple of great teams, pity we didn’t exploit Europe as we should’ve done. Yep, he got my Everton vote too but SAF takes some beating.

I’d put Paisley ahead of Shankly for the other lot.

Weren't Everton a bit unlucky in the 1971 European Cup. Must have been one of the favourites. Before my time but wasn't our 1970 League title team absolutely top notch?

...they were fantastic and should really have beaten Panathinikos to reach that final against Ajax.

I think the ‘63 Championship team were probably the ‘unlucky’ ones falling foul of some dodgy refereeing decisions against Inter Milan. Although it was an early round, it was a small knock-out tournament in those days and Inter went on to beat Real Madrid in the final.

Would have been interesting to see how Everton would have done against a very good Ajax team. Would also have set us up nicely for the rest of the 1970s. Seems very much like a lost decade now though. Bit like the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s :(

Always thought Clough over SAF, 2 intergalactic achievements beat consistent winning excellence IMHO but could argue it the other way.
Clough had panache and swagger in his prime, as well, whereas SAF was and is an aching ballsack of a man.

Well it has to be Alex Ferguson really, would say Paisley but e built on Shankly as opposed to Fergie at United building and sustaining something from the ground up.

Nice to see Caterick and Kendall’s achievements be mentioned though, even if the bbc are being incredibly insensitive showing HK, a man with drinking problems, holding the worlds biggest bottle of whiskey.

Dynasty wasn't really on the cards Chris, sad to say - we didn't have the quality off the pitch, club wasn't built for it.
George Graham's success doesn't happen without David Dein, or SAF at Utd - MArtin Edwards has a bit of a chequered legacy but he still put the club on course for world domination.

Whereas managers like Kendall or Clough succeeded 100% on their own terms against the odds, doesn't matter who the chairman was or how well run the club.

In a parallel universe where mutant thugs didn't turn up at Heysel, Everton have gone on to collect every trophy since Rotterdam.

Prove me wrong! :D

None better before or since, though 84-85 would run them to a photo finish, maybe even a dead heat.
Just like like 62-63

Its an Everton thing - we don't do dynasties
When we're good - we're very very good
When we're bad...well you've seen us.
For some reason were bang average
*shrugs
