I think it's a little sad a lot of peoples first thought was foul play.

What is really going to be sad is the number of people who will still believe conspiracy theories about his death even after the autopsy “he was murdered”, “it was the Covid vaccine” etc and hound his wife with it.

Bronchitis does not cause people to keel over and die. It was obvious that either he had been misdiagnosed or something unrelated got him.

Not really. My first thought is “I wonder what they died from” not “Oo, I wonder what nefarious act happened here”. Completely different and you’re smart enough to know that.

I think what we've exposed here is a relative difference in risk processing. I would maintain that most people immediately perceive the threat, given how we handle things as a society. Otherwise, we probably wouldn't utilize public funds, at least on this side of the pond.

Disagree. Unwell man dies, people think it's dodgy just because of the country he's in and he wears a rainbow tee.

Tbf it didn't help that his brother immediately went on social media claiming Grant was perfectly healthy and his death was definitely suspicious.

I get it, shock and trauma, but his outburst got all the easily swayed onside.

Was a bit more than that. More like 48 year old journalist with no known health problems, who had been v critical of Qatar govt dies suddenly during a game.

He admitted himself in his blog he was ill and feeling massively run down in the days before his death. (something else his brother ignored)

Tbh given all the med staff, defibrillators etc if you have to have a medical issue at a match is a one of the nest ways to improve your odds.

My father died due to an Aortic Aneurysm but his was descending. He survived the initial event but eventually claimed him about 11 years after that event. From memory when the Aneurysm is ascending you are far more likely to die from it. This was how it was explained to me when it happened to my dad although from memory you work in medical so would know better.
