GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

Havol from TNA looks a great character, dominant and quite dark in her character, Karma will either go back there for a feud with Havoc or come back to WWE and dominate. I think AJ will be pushed out by WWE for he connections to CM PUNK, vince's ego is too hot to handle.

Kharma popped up on TNA Impact on Sunday having a staredown with Havoc so assume WWE weren't interested in getting her back, or vice versa.

Mean Street Posse.

Never got it.

To this day i still i wonder why Rodney never got a surname. Unless that was his surname and they were going for a Goldberg type thing with him.

Don't think he quite looked the part though in that tanktop.

Pete Gas and Joey Abs were the other two weren't they?

His promos are getting better I think, but they need to bin that [Poor language removed] catchphrase he's got...

HAHAHAHA. I looked them up while I was watching earlier and thought the exact same thing!!

Yeah. Started off as Rodney and Pete Gas who were allegedly friends of Shane McMahon and not actually wrestlers, and Joey Abs who actually was a wrestler.

I liked them cause they were so ridiculous and cheesy it was comedic genius.

And yeah, Roman Reigns mic work has been pretty bloody awful. But cheesy scripted promos that a 12 year old would think are crap don't help.

Sure, if he can't cut a decent promo off his own back write them for him. But cool asskicking faces don't tell bloody fairytales.

The Mean Street Posse were actually Shane's friends in real life, so the gimmick was reality

Joey Abs was an indy wrestler who they brought in to do the actual wrestling, but the other two were there because of Shane

Apparently, Rodney was a right arrogant jerk as well. Pete Gas was supposedly quite nice and mellow, but Rodney thought he was God's gift and it wound people up

I'l never forget reading one of Mick Foley's books and he described a time where he had to beat the Posse up with a chair. Pete and Rodney came up to him and essentially said "can you hit us really hard so it makes us look like team players?". So Foley duly wallopped them with the chair and it apparently took the heat off them in the locker room

Ah, wrestling

At least it means that Vince is taking a hands on approach to him, which will hopefully mean they'll stay the course

I'm not even a big Reigns fan or anything, but I just want to see them make and sustain a big star who isn't John Cena

When have they ever made a big star by force feeding them to people? Big stars make themselves by getting over with the fans. There's no chance he's going to be anything big long term with his worse than Cena promo's. Turn him heel at the Rumble by killing Bryan, have him align with Paul Heyman for 6 months and then when he speaks let him just grunt a couple of words like Brock.

This is exactly what they should do with Reigns. They won't, but they should. He's far too green on the mic to be a serious face and not skilful enough in the ring to compensate. Basically, he's not a main event talent yet.

First episode of the New Japan show aired on U.S. tv last night, with English commentary.

Opens with a Hiroshi Tanahashi promo with subtitles, followed by the Tanahashi vs Okada match (from 2013). Great stuff.

Triple H

When he first won the title in 99, he wasn't ready and the fans didn't buy him at that level. So, they put him over literally everyone and also gave him Stephanie as a manager until he was eventually over

Triple H still was far more experienced then than Reigns is today, and was in a better spot to deserve the main event push, he was over after the dx gimmick....and he had top wrestlers around him to help elevate him (Rock, mankind, Austin, taker, big show, Kane)...at that point in WWE, Austin was the top dog but anyone could be champion....also HHH was a heel, much easier to be elevated as a heel than a face (Seth Rollins is showing this)....Triple H was never the top guy (even as champ), just like guys like Jericho, edge, cm punk, Eddie, Benoit, Kane, RVD might have been champ but they weren't the real main event...Austin, Hogan, Taker, Rock, Bert Hart, HBK, Cena & Lesnar are/were main event top guys....and right now that's what wwe want to elevate Reigns to, and it ain't gonna be good viewing for anyone over the age of 10....

Reigns needs to be a heel, and alot edgier, for at least a year....he'd get over so much better that way...and for god sake no more nursery rhymes or looney tunes references...

Going back to the Mean Street Posse, i just read that them vs the the Stooges was the highest rated match on the highest rated episode of Raw, even getting more viewers than the infamous This Is Your Life segment.
