So, you think the first half of the Everton/Stoke match was bad.

I'm half way through WCW Starrcade 94 (which is their version of WM) and my god is it awful. The height of Hogans cronyism.

You had a plodding Vader/Duggan match which Duggan dominated before the formerly monstrous Vader and manager Harley Race cheat for the 5th to get the win.

Then a couple of decent undercard matches as the Connecticut blueb..........err Jean Paul Levesque takes on the 18 year old German who gives Distin a run for his money in the "package" stakes, Alex Wright. "Das wunderkind" gets the victory as JPL thinks about ways to chat up Ted Turners daughter.

Followed by the relaible and definatly not gay Johnny B Badd VS Jerry Lawlers cousin The Honky Tonk Man. Except HTM's music hits but there's no sign of him so Arn Anderson comes out accompanied by Colonel Robert Parker (who gives Alex Wright and Distin a run for their money in the "package" stakes) and Meng, a man who could be facing Duncan Feruson and Mohammed Besic in a handicap match and still be the hardest man in the match.

Little Richard gets the win with a schoolboy. No, he wasn't playing Jimmy Saville bingo.

Next, Harlem Heat face the Nasty Boys. Standardly average tag match bwteen these 2. Highlight was Sensational Sherri's selling of the pit stop. Although judging by how the Nasty Boys don't look like they've showered for 3 weeks i doubt she had to try to hard.

Now it's time for one of Hogans celebrity friends to get a nice pay day as First name Mr, Middle name period, First name T faces Kevin Sullivan in a totaly pointless and awful match.

Finish comes as Kevins brother Dave Sullivan, or "Evad Navillus", cause he's backwards, comes out dressed as Santa and whacks Kevin with Jimmy Harts megaphone in a sack. Kevin then gives him a good beating and Daves trousers fall down so you can see his pants. At which point Kevin gives him a piledriver and his face gets pressed into Daves arse. But wrestling isn't gay.

Now it's half time and i'm off for a pint of chang (shot of Baileys) and foot long hot dog (crisp sandwich).

Sting VS the man who went from shifting plate tectonics to shifting large amouns of snow is up next. I can't wait.

Where you watching that mate?

Quite fancy it!

So it's Sting VS the Shark. Sorry, Sting VS Avalanche. Your typical big man VS fiery babyface match really. Not great but told a decent little story : could Sting overcome the odds and chop down the giant redwoood or would it be beyond him.

Follows a familar formula, Avalanche beats Sting up for a bit, Sting makes a mini come back, Avalanche gets control again, Sting makes a mini comeback. REFBUMP! Poor ref gets squashed between Avalanche and the turnbuckle during a Stinger splash, Sting the dumb babyface sees this but still goes for the scorpion deathlock, Kevin Sullivan inteferes and they start double teaming Sting (still not gay). But whats this, someone is coming up the aisle with a chair...........

HOGAN, ITS HULK HOGAN, BUT WHO'S SIDE IS HE ON! Oh sorry, thats Bash at the Beach 96, we still got another 19 months of Hogans stale babyface act as he cleans house and leaves the ring with Sting (although WCW dis experiment with a slightly darker Hogan during 95 probably as a tester for his heel turn in 96).

During the match i think Bobby Heenan channelled Bobby Martinez as he commented that the building owners wouldn't be happy as everyone was still in their seats watching the match and not buying popcorn, at which point you could see loads of people walking around and not watching the match. Phenomenal.

That just leaves the main event where Hogan takes on Ed Leslie, No, The man with no name. No, The disciple. No, Brutus the barber Beefcake. No, Zodiac. No, The Bootyman. No, The Butcher.

Yep, its Hogan VS his former best friend and the man who for weeks has been attacking him with a lead pipe : The Butcher.

This was better than i thought it was gonna be. It wasn't great but they worked hard enough to drag a watchable match out of it. Guess Hogan really is that generous, he'll give his mate a PPV main event and he'll put some effort into it.

It was just a regular pinfall or submission, DQ or count out finish match but referee Nick Patrick put in the worst ref performance since (or should that be until) Lee Mason hit Goodison as Hogan blatantly whacks Butcher with a steel chair twice right in front of him and he lets it go. Then gives Butcher a bollocking for keeping a choke on too long.

Finish comes as Butcher puts Hogan in the sleeper and the ref does the old drop the arm 3 times trick, Butcher things he's won it and starts celebrating but somehow Hogan manages to recover from the same move that knocked him out just weeks previous and Hulks up, is about to win it when Sullivan and Avalanche run in. Well sullivan runs in, Avalanche waddles in about 30 seconds later. Hogan punches them both and manages to stun them just long enough to get the 3 count, then both men jump in the ring and attack Hogan.

They beat Hogan up and leave the ring with him lying. Hah, who am i kidding. Randy Savage makes what i think is his in ring debut and helps run the heels out of town as the MegaPowers re unite.

WE finish off as Hogan cuts a promo in the babyface dressing room before being interupted by Vader who wants a title shot. Which he gets in 95 but gets made Hogans bitch, an awful waste of one of the best big man heels of all time. They have a strap match which features one of the worst finishes of all time.

@ijjysmith i downloaded a torrent of it, i can pm you the site if you're into that sort of thing.

I'm afraid I've got some BAD NEWS....

- WWE pay-per-view prices on Sky Box Office, starting with the Royal Rumble next month, are rising from £14.95 to £19.95, the first price increase in at least 10 years.

- The new 5 year Sky/WWE tv deal kicks in on January 1st, with both WWE NXT and WWE Superstars NO LONGER BEING SHOWN!!!!

- Instead, WWE Main Event will begin airing on Thursdays at 10pm on Sky Sports, beginning January 8th.

- Mostly everything else is unchanged. Raw remains live on Tuesday mornings, Smackdown still on Friday nights.

No NXT really SUCKS though, as it's WWE's best weekly tv show.:(

Well, that doesn't help anyone. I'll stick to watching WWE online on sites instead of Sky.

Network is desperately needed.
