GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

How is it sexist? They aren't entertaining to watch whether they are male or female. They aren't the same as male matches on a whole and the wwe deliberately set them up as being eye candy for the fans apart from the odd talented one in there.

I ask again, where are the ugly but talented female wrestlers?

Apart from the bit where you've claimed all women are gash at wrestling? :p Seriously tho, Paige is quite pretty, in a ghostly palid way, but clearly not there for her looks. Obviously most of them are there for TNA, but to tarnish them all with the same brush is unfair.

I'm ok with Rusev (and especially lana!) but it has a very limited time where a gimmick like this can go on.

And it will all end with a real
American
sorting it. And I don't mean Swagger.

You mean John cena of course. After no selling rusevs offense for 5 mins then hitting a sloppy AA or STF for the win.

For shame. There is only one Real American, and he's Immortal...

i never once claimed that lol

i said specifically WWE, despite being not a fan of female wrestling i can point to the knock outs division in TNA being much bigger and Japanese wrestling having very talented stars there.

i have nothing against female wrestling in general, i am talking about the WWE where the product is over sexualised and there for the eye candy and the grunting and notice how the women get objectified rather than empowered within the storylines? Only AJ Lee i think has bucked that trend but is unique in that sense.

Truth is WWE have no interest in pushing female stars if they have no desire of being the pretty face. you can talk about paige and emma or anyone else but truely AJ is the variable not the constant in that company.

Paige, Charlotte, Natalya and AJ (and to an extent Naomi) are all decent wrestlers. In recent years you've had the likes of Beth Phoenix who was good too.

I'd agree with Ashtonian if he'd said this about 12-24 months ago as it was basically glamour models embarrassing themselves in the ring (like Eva Marie, Aksana etc.) but the shift has definitely been towards better technical wrestling over the last 12 months, mainly because I think the WWE became self-aware of the sheer sexism of the product. Any example would be Gail Kim - horridly misused when in WWE, but she's unfortunate as she'd get a run now (for example, Awesome Kong/Kharma being brought in indicated WWE wanted to shift gears on the Divas division at the time).

In the Attitude Era, women were sexualised, sure, but they were also portrayed as being able to kick ass in a male world (Lita, Trish and especially Chyna). Since around 2009/10, that went. It coincided with the "males can't touch females" rule, so women became a separate entity and, as such, dull.

My favourite WWF July 4th moment ever.... the Bodyslam Challenge on board the USS Intrepid in New York! Love this.

When I went to New York a few years back, I made sure I went on board the USS Intrepid. My dad was like, 'This is great, all these planes on the deck and the antique war ship and all that', and I'm like, "I'm stood where the ring was where Lex Luger slammed Yokozuna!"lol

"HIPTOSS HIPTOS HIPTOSS!"

Such a great angle and face turn, shame Luger never lived up to the hype his mammoth push deserved, he just wasn't likeable enough as a top face and they kinda realised that after a few months.

WWE Network is having a week free trial, no card needed you just need an American Zip code and a Geo-Unblocker for your internet like HOLA! so the website thinks you're in America and not the UK. Watching Rock Austin at Mania 17, ridiculously good.
