Rick Rude was ridiculously misused by the WWF at the time. "Ravishing" Rick Rude was one of the more all round charismatic gimmicks in the industry at the time.

Problem was that Vince didn't see him as a top level guy to feud with Hogan and he was only really presented as a mid level heel. When they finally tried to put him in the main event against Warrior, it didn't work because it was too much of a jump for him to make

He would have needed to be re-built for at least a year before being a believable challenger for Warrior

WCW pushed him as a top level guy right from the off and as a result he got over as one

WCW Beach Blast '92

Cracking show actually

Also has Cactus Jack Vs Sting on it in a falls count anywhere match

92 WCW was awesome all round, so much talent on the roster. I'll try and get hold of Beach Blast .

And i think the best compliment you can give Rick Rude among many is that he was 1 of only 2 people to have a good match with the Ultimate Warrior.

Just watched some of Beach Blast.

The Sting/Jack match was pretty good while it lasted. Shame it was quite short but i guess there's only so many stupid bumps on concrete Cactus Jack can take in one match.

Rude/Steamboat was quality, loved storytelling and how it seemed kinda backwards. As in Steamboat the face got the cheap shot in at the start and Rude the heel overcame the injured ribs. Then they went back to normal at the end as Steamboat went from 3-1 down on the verge of unconsciouness to fight back and get the win.

Also loved how when Rude went to the top and got dq'ed how actually got another pinfall to regain his 2 fall lead but hurt Steamboat so had more of an advantage. Heels don't always have to look stupid.

Happy birthday to Hulk Hogan, aged 60 today!

What the hell was up with Raw last night?! Bryan loses (ok scrwed but its still stupid), Sandow loses yet again (why would they give him the mitb just to bury him!). Big E and AJ lose a mix tag with the great Kali in it! Why to make them look credible six days before you ppv wwe! And best of all Triple H steal's the spot light as the special ref for Bryan-Cena. The battle royal was the only good thing about this show (ok maybe the punk-hayman segment was ok but it was so obvious what was going to happen). Very poor effort of building to shuch a big ppv. If I was a casual fan then this show would not of done its job and made me want to buy the ppv. I'm about 50-50 now tbh.

Does anyone else think that Orton won't cash in his mitb at summer slam? I mean all the signs point to him cashing in but I've got the feeling its a double bluff. I'm prob giving the wwe creative team more credit then they deserve but I'm sure they are planing to pull a Russo on us.

Another everton fan alert at raw,In the new home top when RVD beat's hendry [not hard to spot like],I think the RVD V ambrose pre show summerslam match will be good

Apparently Cena's elbow injury is much worse than first thought/being let on and he will need surgery and time off post Summerslam. So he will almost certainly be dropping the belt.

My guess would be Bryan wins, HHH pedigrees him, Orton cashes in turning HHH and Orton heel leading to a feud with Bryan. An article I read also mentioned the Shawn Michaels/Bryan link so it could tie into a Orton + HHH v Bryan + Michaels situation. Think that is a lot less likely though...

I loved Warrior, but he couldn't wrestle for sh*t.

Loved Ravashing Rick, too. He was a great heel, and damn, what a physique he had!

Been watching a lot of the old matches from the Attitude/Post-Attitude era, specially the bloodbaths that involved them blading themselves into oblivion. These guys really pushed the edge of the envelope. Major Kudos.
