My mate pointed out to me a while back that if you listen to the original Smackdown theme, it sounds like the guy is saying "Rip it round, move it round, cruising and selling cakes"

On a side note. Has anyone else played 'Attitude Mode' on WWE '13. It's really well done. I've not even touched the other modes other than single matches.
Highly reccomend it.
So many good memories from the Attitude Era. Survivor Series '98 Deadly Games tournament. Amazing scenes.

It was Championship Manager for wrestling basically
You run a company and you have to book the shows, sign the wrestlers, give them all gimmicks etc
I love it. I used to stay up till 5 in morning in my Uni days with my WWE version of TEW 2007

A great example of storytelling outshining match quality, perfectly booked and one of my fave heel turns ever.
They booked Rock perfectly from that summer through till when he turned face in April.

Anyone else heard about that nutter is South Africa attacking Randy Orton? I thought it was a work at first but its apparently very much real. And the fella's excuse? "I don't like Orton and I wanted to make a name for myself"! And the ceeky rat asked for an appolgy for Orton's reaction. I've got new respect for orton for the way he delt with the little [Poor language removed].

Obviously people look back at the whole attitude era with love, fair enough it was a very exciting time to be a wrestling fan.
But WWE only went that direction due to the pressure from WCW and the idea from ECW. Now they have neither of those so are content to just coast along doing what they do as longa s they still get ratings and make money.
Which i believe they are so there's no need for them to (in their minds) take risks with the product. Sure, you can say writing decent wrestling tv isn't taking a risk but they have their way of doing things and its working for them well enough, its not awesome but its not awful.
