Why mate? Did you really think, even for a second that Vince (or anyone else for that matter) was ever going to turn down the obscene money that they stand to gain through this and further shows in Saudi Arabia? It's was never going to happen. I'm genuinely shocked that anyone is in the least bit surprised by WWE's actions on this.

I said that myself the other day about the money but I still thought that someone with a bit of common sense might think better on this one.

They're not making mega money off the show. It's not even worth the hassle that will come with the public backlash. It's certainly not enough to the point where its worth losing sponsors and possibly the FOX Sports deal.

But what if the sponsors are rich companies & businessmen who are making that sweet saudi money too.... Easy to be appalled by Hulk Hogan's comments (when he's no longer an asset to sponsors), but clearly they're cool with this situation...
 
One of the reasons Evolution was actually an enjoyable show was because WWE allowed it to feel like a special event rather then an extension of RAW and Smackdown like most of their other ppv's these days.

Just look at Summerslam the last "big show" they did. The Bludgeon Bothers vs New Day? Ended in a way that builds to another match. Somoa Joe Vs AJ Styles? Same thing. And the main event of Lesner Vs Reigns? Went about five mins.....

It's the same thing with almost every WWE ppv these days. They don't even try to disguise that fact that you're never done once you watch a match because they're already building to the next one so they don't feel like their in any way important "must-see" events. It just feels like a longer weekly episode of RAW.

Takeovers and Evolution work because they're focused on delivering the best possible show with the best possible matches right now and nothing else. Look at Becky Lynch Vs Charlotte. It only ended the way it did because WWE management felt they needed a good and big finish to sell Evolution. Had it been on say survivor Series they'd of just done some lazy heel tactic finish to build to the next match.
 
Ok that was a good move by WWE on Smackdown, best possible way to alter the AJ Stlyes Vs Daniel Bryan for Crown Jewel all thibgs considered. My only complaint is
having the AJ Vs Bryan title match as the opener on Smackdown, why couldn't they just let them main event ffs?!
I just felt it cheepend the title and they already do that enough.
