GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

The hate for Punk from certain sections of the IWC is just so pathetic and embarrassing. People seriously pissed because they can't get over the fact that the guy walked away from the buissness without a backwards glance over four years ago. Seriously how do you hate on a guy who knowing that he was woefully out of his depth still had the stones to step into the octagon in two separate occasions to chase his dream?

Corey graves tweets are pretty embarrassing, How much of a suck up do these people become just to stay within the "inner circle", Makes me think even mroe so Fair play to Cody rhodes for branching out

Anyway more tv deals for WWE more diluted crappy product in years to come, will be more focused on children based entertainment in the Fox deal

He has to. Can't compete due to concussions, has no other skillset, so it's to his benefit to identify opportunities to ingratiate himself. Unlike Rhodes and other active wrestlers, WWE is the only game in town for him.

Shows he has a brain, even if it's being used for embarrassing self-serving reasons.

Indeed. I really like Graves. He’s doing what he can to stay in the game.

Comes across as a weapon occasionally but he’s working in the business still.

Fair play if you ask me.

What a terrible song.
Finally got around to finishing Domination, Okada v Omega was amazing. Really enjoyed Jericho v Naito as well. Jericho's character in Japan is so refreshing.

So I watched most of that New Japan Show.

Sorry about this but:
New Japan just isn’t for me. WWE certainly isn’t currently either.

Maybe wrestling isn’t!

I feel I should explain.

This was clearly a great match. But for me, not the best ever. And here’s why:

Wrestling isn’t my life. I just watch it for entertainment and a bit of fun. Football is more my life. I care if Everton win almost too much...and we rarely do as we all know. I care about how my wifes day was. That sort of thing.

I’m not a casual wrestling fan though. Im somewhere between casual and serious fan.

And that’s where the problem here was.

Omega and Okada are clearly amazing pro wrestlers. Possibly the best two in the world. That’s a chat for another time. But there’s something for a semi casual fan missing here. And it is not, I repeat not the wrestlers fault.

I can’t stand the Japanese crowd. It’s just the culture of course but it really takes something away from the spectacle for me. The atmosphere is important to me.

The commentary here. Saying ‘wow’ after a kick in the back. Nah. Not for me.

I guess I need the razzmatazz. And I don’t get this when I watch New Japan.

Do not get me wrong. I am not defending wwe here. How anyone could defend wwe and their current product is beyond me. But I’m saying how I feel after watching this New Japan show and specifically this match.

I can 100% see how hardcore “All In” fans could rate this so highly. Remember it’s all just opinions.

I vaguely knew the background and all that went before this match. I’d seen the previous encounters between these 2 because I wanted to see what the hype (SIT DOWN MOJO) was all about. Perhaps if I’d been more engaged or cared more I’d have enjoyed this like a lot of you did.

Maybe I’m just growing up and seeing that this fake fighting we all love taken so seriously is taking something away for me.

Don’t hate on this. If you loved it fair enough.

I thought the commentary was brilliant personally

Kelly and Callis are probably my favourite announce team

Loved Omega vs Okada. Absolutely perfect blow off to their story and even better that it comes on the year anniversary of their draw.

Got home to my New Japan in Manchester tickets too. Genuinely perfect.

Great match indeed with a perfect ending after a nearly 2 year build. But I too miss something. It makes me miss Kurt Angle riding a milk truck or a Stone Cold/Booker T supermarket brawl.

Yeah. I find it hard to describe what’s missing for me. It all just feels too serious for me. It’s fake fighting so has to be a bit silly.
I dunno.

Fair enough if people loved it.
