In less than half an hour too - with little amount of touts getting them.
They'll have a pretty card with folk like Okada, Omega, Mysterio and some of the top Mexican talent booked but without WWE or New Japan backing, it's amazing to see.
Some people seem really unhappy about it as well
I don't understand that at all. Even if you're not a fan of these particular wrestlers, a non affliliated show getting that sort of crowd is great for wrestling. It shows there's still an audience out there for something different
I can only assume most of the negativity is coming from hardcore WWE fans, who have become so indoctrinated that they believe anyone else doing well in wrestling is intrinsically a bad thing?
Yeah, I'd say that and fans who don't like the Bucks.
It's incredible that they've built it and will continue to build up to it essentially through Twitter and their YouTube series. The three of them have funded it all and are going to headline it - without much ego. Just incredible.
I don't think it even would have been possible prior to the "social media age" either
Three guys who understand the new medium and have marketed themselves outrageously well
I hope they stream the show or at least put it on DVD, as I'd like to watch it
I assume they either close the show with Cody winning the NWA Title or have him get screwed in some manner to set up another show?
They've talked about streaming it but it was only brief so I guess they may have figured that they'd run into troubles with names and contracts from different companies.
You'd hope Cody won the title that his dad won and all that but we'll have to see. Interesting to say the least.
Highlight thus far has been Rusev running around the ring waving a Real Madrid shirt in the air, trying to get booed, but getting cheered by all the EFC fans in the crowd.
I've been listening to Bruce Prichard's podcast 'Something to Wrestle With. Absolutely fascinating stuff. All episodes are on YouTube.
Highly recommended.
