GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

Maybe I've become so desensitised from years of watching wrestling, but even though the Punk thing was bad, I wasn't surprised, nor was it the worst thing I've ever seen.

I remember far worse - for years after Owen Hart died, they'd have wrestlers 'be gravely hurt' and the announcers act really solemn and put their 'Owen Hart aftermath' faces on, pretending to be close to tears. Then there was Randy Orton, setting fire to the late Eddie Guerrero's car just TWO WEEKS AFTER HE DIED and claimed that Eddie 'was in hell'. How about Jim Ross having life-saving colon surgery, and Vince mocking him in a backstage skit where Vince dressed up as JR and a surgeon was supposedly pulling things out of his arse? Then there was the zillions of times that J.R.'s real life face paralysis has been mocked. I could go on, they've done loads of tasteless stuff over the years.

It's interesting that they did this just one week after Linda lost her senate election battle. They wouldn't have dared do this last week for fear of bad publicity. Now, they clearly don't give a s*** anymore.

Spot on. And in the long run it's good.

But with Punk/Lawler, I think it's because it happened on air and people lived the human drama of the whole incident. That's why it's... a bit extreme. It didn't really achieve anything either - I get they're trying to put Punk over as heel but all this achieved was questioning of the WWE's story arch rather than cementing Punk as a t*t.

Very true. Punk is awesome as a heel, and he really didn't need this stunt to be any more over or any bigger a character.

Nice to see a wrestling thread on here. Had a feeling there would be some interaction between King and Punk last night but didn't expect them to go with the fake heart attack with Heyman, I wasn't offended by it but at the same time felt it wasn't needed

Don't know what to make yet of what they are doing with Miz, think a face turn could be a good way to freshen him and open up new feuds

Anyone seen the Rock in town? Apparently he's been in Liverpool to film scenes for The Fast & the Furious 6 movie.

Tweeted the other day:

THANK U #Liverpool Wow! I may not be a Beatle, but your love makes me feel like an honorary Liverpudlian #ComeTogether

Massive love from #Liverpool comin' in.. Read ya loud & clear: #RocksAnHonoraryScouser #ScouserBoots2Asses Thank U!

Love it! Loads of Hollywood movies seem to be getting filmed in Liverpool these days.

Not sure wether it was Sherlock Holmes or transformers or something, but saw a movie being filmed down dock road a few weeks ago - at night - using the building they have used in the past for Sherlock Holmes and Captain America. Couple of old style cars around, and some huge lights for filming.

So Survivor Series is tomorrow, card doesn't look much save for the traditional match and the triple threat, still ordered it though as its one of my favourite ppv's ever. What's everyone's favourite teams/matches from down the years?
