Really enjoyed the last 4 matches, they were all excellent, with Omega Vs Okada being a genuine classic. I didn't want it to end

Big shout out to Tanga Roa and his potty mouth as well, hilarious stuff!

The only match I really didn't like was the ROH Title match. Cole hitting O'Reilly with a chair right in front of the ref and it not being a DQ made the ref look ridiculous and took me completely out of the match. Why couldn't he just throw him into the ring post shoulder first instead? You can at least suspend disbelief that the ref would let that slide, but a chair to the arm should be a DQ every single time

Notice how in the Main Event they had Okada back drop Omega through the table from inside the ring, so that they had the out of him "not meaning" to do it to excuse why there wasn't a DQ (and the added nuance of the heel getting hoisted by his own petard)

Omega vs Okada was just absurd. I completely bought in. Naito vs Tanahashi was extremely good too and didn't think it was going to be topped until Omega Okada started. 47 minutes of excellence.

I liked O'Reilly vs Cole purely because I'm a big fan of both of them but it wasn't as good as the rest of the card.

Think I read it was good. Am I likely to find it with English commentary?

Anthem Sports & Entertainment, the parent company of The Fight Network, officially announced the purchase of TNA Wrestling on 1/4, a deal that actually went down in October when Anthem saved the company from likely extinction by funding Bound for Glory and its final sets of television tapings.

Ed Nordholm, the Executive Vice President of Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corporation has been running the company since shortly after the original deal was put together with the title of Managing Director of Impact Ventures.

The belief is that the former TNA Impact Wrestling, now renamed Anthem Wrestling Exhibitions, LLC, is owned 85 percent by Anthem, with 10 percent ownership by Aroluxe and five percent ownership by Dixie Carter.

The press release stated that Dixie Carter will resign from her position as Chairman of Impact Ventures, but will still be involved as a member of the Advisory Board of Fight Media Group, a face saving position where the press release stated her focus will be on the global growth of all combat sports related brands owned by Anthem.

At press time, John Gaburick still maintained his position as head of creative. We’re told Carter no longer has any decision making power with the company.

Happy days!!!

So yeah, Meltzer gave Okada Vs Omega ****** (Yes, 6 STARS)

Not sure if it's a typo or not

Knowing Dave's constant battles with punctuation and grammar, it's a distinct possibility

It's no Typo, won't post his full review as it is obviously a massive spoiler but he did say:

"Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada may have put on the greatest match in pro wrestling history"

And?

(Ooooo, I'm actually nervous!)

It's definitely not the best match ever. Not even close to being it either for me.

BUT

It was good. I think i'd have liked it more if I knew more about them both though. I just couldn't take to Okada at all. That Rain Maker finisher doesn't feel spectacular enough. But he didn't half take some punishment, mainly to his neck which I did appreciate.

However, I loved Omega. He was fantastic and I felt carried the entire match. Charisma, good look, and excellent at taking knocks.

I don't watch Japanese wrestling obviously, so do find their crowds a little on the quiet and odd side. Like this match took a long long time to really get going and it was deathly quiet. I get that it's just their culture but imagine this match in say Chicago. Aces.

Overall, excellent match, which i'd have appreciated more if I knew more about them, but absolutely not the best match ever.

Did you watch the pre-match video with English subtitles explaining the backstory?

I personally loved the bit where Okada had hold of Omega's wrist and was getting kneed in the head continuously but just wouldn't let go until he hit the Rainmaker. Awesome spot!

But yeah, getting used to clotheslines as finishers is a bit of a culture shift if you've not watched Japanese wrestling a lot. Basically, Lariats are a top level finisher over there, so the fact Okada pushes the guy away and pulls him back into one makes it a murder-death-kill move

I did yeah. Just couldn't take to Okada at all. Seemed to have no charisma. Or a character that didn't seem to match either the random bloke he was with and the fact he had money with his boat race on it falling during his entrance. Just didn't work for me. But like I say, I don't know these people.
