Four years ago, I ran an alternative to the official predictor on here. Those of you who were regulars back then as well as now will remember a user by the name of "Roberto's Dream" won it. Meanwhile, Bungle totally prolapsed - I managed to come second despite being crud at predicting matches.
This time things are simpler. Much simpler. All I need is seven people to reply with "I'm in" or just "in" and this contest is a go!
HOW IT WORKS
1. Each participant will be inboxed four teams to make predictions for in the group stage - so just 12 matches to predict each, rather than 48!
2. At the end of the group stage, the top three users are awarded bonus points. Then it becomes a daily predictor, where users need to post their predictions.
3. At all stages, two points are awarded for a correct prediction, five are given for a spot-on, and one is deducted for a wrong prediction.
4. For the knockout stage, each user has three Jokers and an Ace. Jokers multiply points won by 2, while an Ace multiplies points won by five.
Deadline to enter is 7 June. Seven plus me is the minimum required.
