Do the media hate us? I don't think it's conscious, but there is bias. For example, I just read this article:

It contains the line "Andy Gray, he of former Everton and misogynism fame, thinks otherwise." I think it's a witty line, but when Andy was the respectable front of the Premier League, he was never just of "former Everton" fame.

Thousands of these references go against us every year, whereas they go in favour of the "glamour" clubs. Individually they mean nothing, but they have a cumulative effect. Even worse, this negativity compounds over time and constantly lowers the "baseline" of media coverage of us.
