Ok chaps need to give a brief on Tz.. little late for travelers as they would be here by now.
I've lived here for almost 5 years in Dar so can share some info.

Firstly Bolasie means nothing to the locals. They are more excited to see Rooney and quality players. Bolasie is not Tanzanian or even East African. It's like the French wanting to go see a German.. silly. Assuming being black means universal support from an African country is a little condescending really.

Secondly you definitely can catch something. Malaria is quite bad at the moment owing to extended rains. Lube up the repellant. Worst outbreak since we've been here.

Risk of violence. Virtually zero. Politically stable for years and the new president has banned opposition parties from rallies so it's all very quiet. The only crimes that happen often are drive by bag snatches. So best not to carry handbags or shoulder bags road side.

Lastly they LOVE the EPL here. So why Africa or Tanzania, why not? You see shirts everywhere of different clubs, including Everton! They wear shirts of clubs they don't support just because they love the game.

Great pubs to get a pint before the game. Enjoy if you visiting!

What sort of level are the opposition? I am thinking comparable to non league in the UK sort of level? My main concern is that one of their team is just going to snap one of our players to "make their mark". hopefully the refereeing is to a god enough standard that this doesn't happen

Read through the thread. Nobody has suggested anything condescending.

Not unreasonable to think that a successful Footballer to come out of Africa, may drawer a bit of a crowd, regardless of whether he's from that country or not.

Obviously he won't be playing anyway but it's a fair suggestion for someone to make.

I'm actually saying it's a little condescending from the club as if to say look we have African players too.. not pointing fingers at fans..

Have the club done that? I haven't seen them use bolasie in any way.

From what I've seen on Bolasie, whether people think he's good or not, he loves being in and around the squad. I think he appreciates his roots and the facthe knows how well he has done.i imagine he could have carried on his recovery at home like Coleman. Maybe he can do light training for a while and hey wanted him with the squad.

Sometimes when players are injured they will still go and the media may use them, he may be a guest on some media stuff in the build up tomorrow, maybe even with that muppet and Graham Stuart during the match.

What time is the last train to Lime Street mate? And does it stop at Broad Green?
