Goodison's atmosphere.

Hell, every time somebody makes a good creative pass or we get a good counter attacking move going the crowd picks up. It's completely absurd to expect people to cheer rubbish football. We are not machines that make atmosphere so that players who earn tens of thousands a week feel better.

There was a spell after we scored on Saturday where the crowd was really getting behind the team because we were pressing to score another goal, and that's exactly how it should be.

Spot on mate.

A perfect description of how it is, and also the fact that the players know this too. You can't argue with your post.

Agree with the above. I can't articulate it in to words properly but it's really annoying me how people are so negative. Don't bother spending your money if you will only support the team when they're playing well. Nobody forces us to support Everton. It's not condoning poor performances or questionable management, it's just letting the club know you'll always support them.

A lot have lost their way.

Maybe people are so negative because when they see the team and see Saha up front with Cahill yet again they know we are going to struggle because niether of them are performing and the only person that can't see this is Moyes. Over half a season past by now and they only got 2 goals between them, surely they have got to be dropped even if it's just to give them a kick up the arse because at the mo they know no matter how dire they play they will still be in the team next game

We're football fans! What do they owe us? None of us are forced to follow Everton. In May 2009 Everton meant European competitors. It meant cup finalists. It meant deadly on set plays. It meant the 5th best team in the league.

Now, for the moment, it means lacking in creativity. It means a complete dearth of transfer kitty. It means 14th best. But that might change before the end of the season.

But it's STILL EVERTON. I don't remember anyone screaming in fury at a misplaced pass at Wembley. Were there jeers after any of the 7 draws on the way to finishing 4th? 2-0 down and going down against Wimbledon, did anyone cry murder? What's changed? Where's our pride gone?

Nil Satis Nisi Optimum might not be always the case on the field but surely it should first and foremost apply to our support? If we lose that what have we got left?
Wow.

Just wow.

At the end of the Wigan 0 - 0 last season, there were muted 'boos', but like many I stood there staring blankly like a cigar-store Indian. Remember that day? It really freaked Captain Pip out.

What I could have done with that £30...

Just to go back to an earlier point, I'd like to say that claiming that we're the 4th most succesful club in English football is a bit of a stretch, because come on, the Charity shield doesn't really count in real life, does it

Vinny Samways says different.

I'd be interested to know how many of these people saying we should be cheering on the team regardless actually go to the match. I bet the results would be pretty obvious, those people might feel differently when they spend 2 hours of their valuable weekends off and spend £20+ a game not including tickets to watch us play s***e football.

Agree with this, people want to be entertained for their money as well as their support, and like I've said before at the moment I feel sorry for all of you loyal locals, especially with times being tough back home.

How can you cheer one up front AT HOME? Negative tactics psiss off the fans which influence the players. Have been over five times this season, Goodison is like a graveyard.
