Goodison Park

I still standby this:

I am really enjoying BMD and happy that we've moved, yet like your first love it will never replace Goodison nor would I want it to.

….the key thing for me about Goodison are the memories and they’re still exactly the same.

Going with Dad and uncles from the early 60’s, seeing the great players, the trophy’s then taking my own kids and loving the same process. Not missing the old place as everything about it is stored as it was before we left.

Love the new ground.
Nail on the head. Don’t so much miss Goodison, I still have all the memories and I’m still on that journey with dad at our new shiny palace. I hope to expand on it with my daughter! Anyone know how to convince her of a lifetime of misery and false dawns ha!

The one thing I do miss is the intensity of noise in the lower gwlady under the upper. Was park end for the last 24 years but swapped tickets for the final derby and got to live it one last time - will stay with me forever that moment when Tarks leathered it.
Same here mate. Really struggling with the transition from the Lower Gwladys to the Upper South. Hoping to move down to the Lower South next season but don’t think we’ll ever get the same level of atmosphere as the street end at the new place unfortunately.

I hated the idea of leaving Goodison, but the new stadium has filled me with pride and astonishment that we pulled it off so well. Still miss the old place, however we’ve done a great job(possibly the best) in replacing her!

Short of building overhanging stands there was no chance we would mate. I love BMD in every way though, a huge success for the club

I miss Goodison like most, for the memories of the people that took me to my first game, sang with, drank with, laughed and cried with. Took my little boy several times and he saw us win only once but he still got hooked, now I take him to BMD and this 9year olds Everton game days are his best days of EVERY week..... the New stadium has him obsessed, it's defo given the club a new lease of life and I hope we can capitalise on it.

I miss lots of things... All quirky features of the place that'll never be the same again.

I could write an extensive list for each stand apart from the new park end of things that you'd never see anywhere else

The rumbling sound of feet on wood from the upper bullens/gwladys

The tea bar at the back of the lower gwladys or next to the toilets in the enclosure where you could watch the match while you wait for a drink.

The random seats on their own or in their own little access aisles

The special club tiles in the bogs

So many unique things that will never be seen again... But I love the new place and I'm very happy we've moved on

It has been a seamless move. We feared the loss of Goodison but Bramley Moore is showing signs of becoming a similar fortress. We are rebuilding now into a team that the stadium deserves.

In terms of getting there, really like that you can walk there and back and not be queueing for the Soccer Bus. Regent Road will become a big line of bars and restaurants and I look forward to that choice on the way.
