Goodison atmosphere tomorrow

It's very difficult to get the atmosphere when your team is playing so defensively. There was just no momentum for the fans to latch onto.

The ground was bouncing from about 15 minutes before kick off, you couldn't hear z cars.

That's why I watched the teams coming out on the sky recording afterwards. But all you heard was Liverpool fans, you can pinpoint when they turned/changed the mics too - it's when they realised we were booing gerrard. Then all you couldn hear was 'liverpool Liverpool' and you'll never walk alone. So I just deleted the recording, as there was nothing else to watch

Honest to god, there was one point in the second half when Sakho was getting closed down by Lennon and McCarthy and I've never heard a roar like it in a long long time. So when I went home, watched it on record and it sounded like a half hearted wimper so it shows how deceptive it is.

I remember there being a similar issue in the recent North East derby. I remember thinking watching that game on telly how quiet it was, how muffled the sound was, when it was obvious from the general animation of the crowd that it wasn't.

Strange really that Sky don't make sure they've got it right to project the atmosphere into living rooms since doing so can only add to the product they're trying to sell.

I was at the back of the LG and thought it was decent, before the game and during the game people were singing and standing all game, it would have been better if the game was half decent though.

From my spec in the main stand I'd say it was ok, nothing more. I thought it would have been more lively given the ko time, etc.

The issue is that the sound doesn't really travel out of the Gwladys. So whilst those in the lower will say it was bouncing throughout, that noise doesn't really travel to the rest of the ground

Correct, hence the reason why our fans are split on their attitudes to singing. It's to do with acoustics and your own match going habits.

I was in the lower Glawdys and felt that despite the ground rocking pre match and for the first 20 mins, the standard of the game sucked away the potentially explosive atmosphere which was brewing. Shame

I watched the first half on my laptop and it came across very quiet. But I did have the sound on mute so that probably explains it.

True about being in the street end and singing though. I've been right in the thick of it and it sounds immense. You then go and spend a match in the park end and the sound coming from the street end sometimes is barely audible.

Where's the acoustics money Bill!!!

I thought the atmosphere was very flat. But as people have already said, it's hard to get a good atmosphere going when the game was so poor. We barely had any good chances.

That video must be fake, or else as soon as the game started everyone had their hands over their mouths and kept quiet. That's the only conclusion I can make given that so many on here tell me the atmosphere was poor. There is of course the greater likelihood -- that all those saying that were watching on Sky.
