agreed. we have lescott, valente and irving all able to play left back.

if we are as poor as everyone thinks, we would do well to recoup the baines money and invest it in a first team player like m'bia.

Totally agree mate. No point holding on to someone when we have adequate cover and get double what we paid

Adequate cover?

Remove Baines and tell us what the team for Saturday will be, including the bench.

Baines will start on Saturday, btw.

Adequate cover in that position. It will be the defense that finished last year with Baines on bench (if he is still here)

I hope we never sell any of our players ever again. It's not like we see the cash and bring in a replacement. If we could get £3m for Neville however......

Yeah, and Jagielka is also backup. No need for him either. And Valente, total waste of space. Anichebe and Vaughan can go, too. Merely backups. And I bet someone would pay for Rodwell.

Yawn. Lescott, valente, irving, and even neville can play there. How many do you want? Perhaps we should buy another 10 left backs just in case. Lol

looked to me like he pushed lescott out of position last season. hardly back up!

anichebe and vaughan should be expected to play from the bench due to their age. ditto rodwell.

valente is back up, but as no one will pay 6 million for him then lets keep the portugese world cup semi finalist.

i appreciate your post was tongue in cheek, but the level of freak out on this site today is unbecoming of an evertonian.

Lescott should play in the center. Valente has been more injured than fit to play for the last two seasons. Irving is totally untried. Neville can play there, but with Hibbert injured, who will play RB?

So yawn yawn.

im losing my mind over here

if we sell another player I think I might just lose my mind!!

I suppose it gives me two options:

1. tear up my season ticket and spend my saturday afternoons watching movies or crown green bowling.

2. I take my boots with me on saturday and try and get a game

God give me strength!

Valente, has been more fit than Baines so your arguement fails. Lescott is superb at full back unless you think he won every player award last season by luck. If neville and hibbo are injured, then yobo or jag can slot into rb and lescott centre half with 1 of the others mentioned at lb. So yes Yawn Yawn

Yep, HBL back to his old ways. The ways that got him banned several times from Kipper (I refer to the yawning etc). Is it possible for you to discuss like a normal person even if someone disagrees with you?

Lescott should play in the middle. End of. He has as much as said he wants to play there. Do you want to unsettle him? And if he plays left back, we have exactly two centre backs available.

Valente is 34 and experience tells us players at that age when they start getting these small injuries keep getting them. Baines has been more or less injury-free until he joined Everton, so he does not have a history of injuries. So it is entirely possible he was unlukcy last season rather than anything else.

Yobo or Jagielka at RB? Have you actually watched them play there? Yobo was abysmal and Jagielka not much better.
