Player Valuation: £8m
Sunderland in for £6m Everton defender

ROY KEANE has launched a fresh bid for Leighton Baines — a year after being snubbed by the player.
Full-back Baines, 23, turned down the chance to join Sunderland from Wigan last summer in favour of a switch to his boyhood heroes Everton.

But Black Cats boss Keane will test Everton's resolve by offering to match the £6million they paid for Baines, reports the Sun.

Despite splashing more than £20m this summer, Keane still wants a left-back.

He stepped up his search after missing out on Aston Villa signing Nicky Shorey and West Ham's George McCartney.

Will drive him there myself if its true!(y)

Could we also sell Lescott and a few others while we are at it? I mean, we could get top price and we have such a big squad.

Halewood, will you stop playing the role of Uber Blue and turn it in? Let me give you a clue...getting rid of the 4th first team player this pre-season without getting anyone in is a bad thing.

He shouldn't be a 1st teamer. So selling a reserve for double what we paid is great. I wonder if sunderland know he is tiny! Lol

Roy Keane is a fine example of a manger who panic buys. When you look at the garbage he bought last year in an attempt to stay up it nearly cost them. Michael Chopra anyone? He has now landed a load of Spurs rejects. But then again a lot of people here would have been happy to buy dross like that just to keep the numbers up.

i'd sell them baines for 6 or 7 million. happily.

lescott left back with valente back up.

WTF.....

we sell him yes, an then we need 8-9 players.

We needed 6-7 before Aj went a pienaar was injured.

Kenwrong would probably keep the money anyway. So whats the point!!

So then we would have 9 fit senior players. You planning on Everton playing in the seven-a-side competition instead of Premier League?

Tainio was a key player in Spurs until they changed managers. He's injury prone, but when fit a good player. Him and Malbranque would have strenghtened our midfield considerably.

Valente is very injury prone. When he's out and any of the trio Lescott, Yobo and Jagielka is out, who will play left back?

And what exactly do you guys plan to do with the money? Everton has already sold players for 15-20 million pounds this year (depending on source) and brought in no-one.

Well all I can say is that BK and DM must have 2 of the biggest sets of balls, because this is one of the scariest games of chicken that I have ever seen.

Can you feel your sphincter puckering up as we enter the home stretch heading for a booming cresendo, Sporting and Rennes will blink or we are going to be one hell of a train wreak. :o:o
