Don't watch a lot of golf but tuned in to watch Garcia today. So happy, always a name I watch for. Many congratulations to him.

For both his win, and finding such a beautiful woman.

Delighted for Sergio. I must admit I thought he'd never do it. Hugely talented, but struggled with the mental side of the game since he was about 20. Seve was willing him on. Was emotional watching that footage of Seve winning back in the day, my favourite ever golfer.

Glad he won. He's waited a long time and rose is one cockwomble
I hope loads backed serg and cleaned up
You couldn't be more wrong. Rose is a very humble and very well respected pro. Many competitors speak so highly of him as a golfer and as a person. There are many golfers who wouldn't want to be interviewed after that loss, but he spoke so eloquently and seemed genuinely delighted for Sergio despite his heartbreak.

I'll be honest, Sergio has few peers when it's comes to ball striking, but as we know his putting has held him back. I'm really surprised he 'broke his duck' at Augusta as those greens are so severe. But you only have to look at the reaction to his win from not just the golfing but sporting fraternity. Good things come to those that wait. Well done Sergio, let's hope Westwood can break his duck next.

No chance for Westwood I'm afraid, will rank alongside Monty as one of the best not to win a major, although I think Monty was the better player.

Sadly I agree with everything you said. Monty was the better player no doubt and even he didn't manage to win one. Westwood's best chance came last year eagled 15 to tie the lead with Willet then 3 putted the next. Whereas Sergio like Westwood has putting issues, his short game is far superior to westwood's. Maybe birkdale, with its emphasis on hitting fairways and greens could be westwood's last chance, as it suits westwood's game. Saying that if I had to put money on the next first time major winner, it would be Rahm or pieters, 2 unbelievable talents.

Yes, too much baggage for Westwood, his putting looks even dodgier, and his chipping isn't the best either. A lot depends on the weather for Birkdale, if it's windy it knocks a lot of the field out these days, as they tend to all hit high.
