I find the tactical geniuses dotted around me in the Gwladys who supply (without prompt) their well informed running commentary,

"COME OF EBTON DEEZ ARE S***E"

"GET STUCK IN BLUEZ"

"FFS LUKAKU YOU LAZY B*****D"

"Get the Ale in Paul, it's chokka"

"KOFF MCARTHY YOU ABSOLUTE BELL"

Are just a selection of the pearls of wisdom passed down through the ages. When contrasted to some of the outbursts on this very electronic forum they are positively erudite in comparison.

Lol. My point is more about the many cameras and angles you get to watch the game on. Much more insight into what's happening than being stood behind some tall bloke refusing to sit down, right?
TV cameras tend to follow the ball, being there gives you a much bigger picture about what is happening all over the pitch, formations, players positioning, makes it much more interesting, be honest 90% of analysts/commentators rarely predict formations correctly when the lkine ups are on the screen in front of them.

Do you sit next to my parents by any chance?

Obviously match-going Evertonians will say yes, and they'll also argue it makes them better fans too. They probably forget that many people live far away or even abroad and cannot go to the match, however, thus making their better-fan argument null and void.

In terms of better insight, I'd strongly say no. How can sitting in one spot at the match give better insight over watching a stream where there are 20 cameras and all sorts of half time and full time analysis? I'd like somebody from the Gwladys Street to tell me how them sat behind the goal surrounded by the smell of skunk and horse poo can give them a better insight than somebody watching on a stream, seeing the game from above and getting a better sense of positioning, etc. Impossible.

The only insight it would give is the feeling and atmosphere amongst matchday Evertonians and in the ground, but that's obvious.
id love to see a horse get in the street end

Well it seems I would be better watching on t v, I never thought of that TBH.
Not at all. Watching a match at the ground is a far better experience than watching it at home. It doesn't give you a better insight into what goes on on the pitch though IMO.

I reckon it does, yeah - BUT - it doesn't automatically give you the right to tell people they can't have an opinion or their opinion is wrong because they don't go the game. One of my mates went the game for years and now lives abroad. Does his well-informed opinion not count anymore?

This ^

You can choose what to watch at the game. You can follow one player and watch his runs (or lack of them) Watch players body language off the ball, see the back line organising themselves when the ball has advanced and generally just have a more holistic view than you get from the ball following TV cameras.

The only thing the TV audience gets a better insight into is crucial decisions that they get multiple replays of that we only get to see once.
