Its not like last season when we played them after the other and we have some games in between that you would hope would be easier.
I think it's a great opportunity for Silva and crew to set up what they really want to do. Going up against the first four, all tough opponents in various stages of rebuild (for their stature) will be an interesting test. Then, in December, it's Anfield, City away, then Spurs home. That's when you'll know where this squad is. Then the January window and setting up the final 19 to push for final table position and prepare for next year's campaign(s), plus any incidental hardware if Everton don't bomb out of the cups as per usual.
It's all really setting up nicely, perspective depending, because if there's nothing specific to gain from the campaign, we've now doubled our tests: see where the club is; see how the club grows.
Looking at the second half of the schedule, it's the same clubs in various stages of competing for the title/Europe, plus a Zidane-led United at Goodison. Let's be having them, up the Toffees!
