Go Go Goat! Thanks for all the kind messages, had a great Christmas, hope everybody else did.
My recovery is going great, im at the "scans to make sure" stage, but everything is very much going to plan.
Not sure if ive done this, but may as well use this thread for good.
I had a lump in my neck for a long time, it was just at the side, nothing major, it would be more noticeable when I coughed.
Being a man, I put up with it, it didnt hurt and it was barely noticeable until I went looking for it.
Anyway, 1 day I showed my wife who said I should go the Doctors.
I went the Doctors, long story short, for 6months they said it was a cyst, then they said they dunno, I was due to have a very minor op, then 2 days before my OP I was sent for further tests by a new Surgeon.
It was then that I was told I had thyroid cancer, 2 weeks later I had a pretty major OP, followed by radiation treatment.
As I say, recovery is going great, its rough in the cold, everything locks up!!! But ive gone back to swimming and even the scar is less noticeable, as I say, currently just having scans, but other than tablets for the rest of my life I should be Gucci.
I then went the Docs for something else and mentioned that I had a weird spot that bleeds and never goes away, long story short that was skin cancer, which im due to have cut out soon(TM).
So what im saying is, dont ignore lumps, spots or anything else that doesnt seem right.
Go get them checked out peeps.

What type of skin cancer is it? I’ve had a basal cell cut off next to my eye and a fairly nasty squamous cell cut out from behind my ear.Happy to answer any questions anybody might have.
As you say we are stubborn and if it wasnt for my wife making me go the outlook might not be as pleasant.
Hope you're ok mateWhat type of skin cancer is it? I’ve had a basal cell cut off next to my eye and a fairly nasty squamous cell cut out from behind my ear.
Yeah, neither were really any great cause of concern tbh. Just cut them out and off you go, it’s melanoma that is where you get worried.Hope you're ok mate![]()
