I think and hope so too mate. He;s been a winner elsewhere and almost got us over the CL spots line and cup final line too. I think Belgium are in good hands given they emphasise attack. He;s just what they require in fact. I shall be hoping along with others he goes a long way in the in the WC

I hope everyone who has been involved with the club does well really mate. Unless they go to Liverpool. I think that comraderie and once a blue always a blue spirit is very important.

I definitely dont think he is a manager that deserves some of the derision and slating that he gets on here.

He had his faults for sure but there is a strong context there of some absolutely dreadful performances by normally solid professionals and then the difficulty in getting the Goodison crowd onside when they've started to turn.

I think to judge him on the majority of last season doesnt really reflect his actual level as the mood was poisonous. It was an impossible situation. I'd say he knew he was on borrowed time from xmas on. I'd judge him more on the first two seasons which kind of cancel each other out and leave him as being just an OK Everton manager but not deserving of some of the silly hatred.

However football fans love a simple narrative so its easier to just shout about his lucky first season due to Moyes defense and that then everything after that was all down to him.
Well said.

I think it comes down to style in the end and not so much results - which as you say cancel each other out for both previous managers, in fact.

If you like that game of keeping it on the deck and working moves - and it's done with professionalism and comes off - it is a joy to behold. I think it;s the only way to play football. The other way is, for me, crude. I think the Martinez years will have a legacy that saw us get away from that crudity. Koeman's recent results with these players were achieved on the deck and through a lot of counter attacking. So there's the continuity hopefully coming through. Time will tell on that. Obviously when its played at a snails pace and ponderously then it falls into disrepute.

Its often repeated when putting him down that his style of football was dull and boring due to too many crab passes and messing around at the back....however that was the style played badly and not at all what he would have wanted. The blame for the tactic being implemented poorly of course does fall on him....but also falls on the players.

When it comes to the hatred of Bobby on GOT in particular though I think you will have to accept your part in that!

I don't hate the man far from it. But contrary to what you've said, it's entirely about results. And the results simply weren't acceptable, especially at home. So that's why we made a change. It's happened before and it will happen again. I support everton not Everton managers so I'd prefer we moved on and looked ahead to what are hopefully better times ahead.

I accept I stay loyal to managers who have proven themselves in the post and find it hard to throw them to the wolves even if they aren't doing a great job. I'm loyal and make no excuses for it.
