No, I was referring to the idea that music and politics shouldn't mix. It's like saying politics and speaking shouldn't mix. It's one of the stupidest things I've ever read.

I reckon pretty much every artist on show has a political song or two.

John Fogerty was on, Neil Young etc. Artists who came to fame with political songs.

The arts and politics are massively entwined. Always have been.

The BBC has banned records because they disagree with the view being expressed, they weren't denying the artists' right to express their views through music. Music and politics are inherently connected.

This was a live event, and anyone could have said something which would have at any other time been unbroadcastable at any point. They should have cut the feed, and in hindsight they really shouldn't have broadcast Bob Vylan's set live, but let's stop pretending this is crime of the century.

I have never ever heard anyone give a solid reason for this.

"Politics" as people call them are everywhere in every day life.
